According to the calendar announced for the 2026 Apertura, there is no Play-In: the top eight teams in the general table go straight to the Liguilla. Today those eight are América, Toluca, Atlas, Guadalajara, Cruz Azul, Querétaro, León and Monterrey.

Liga MX semifinals 2026: Liguilla dates
According to the calendar announced before the tournament, the regular season ends on November 22 with Matchday 17. The quarterfinals follow, with first legs on November 25 and 26 and second legs on November 28 and 29. The semifinals are scheduled for December 2, 3, 5 and 6, and the final between December 10 and 13.
The calendar adds that, if Toluca reaches the final because of its participation in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, the final would move to December 24 and 27. Dates can change during the tournament, and we will update them here.
